Mr. Mourton received his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Arkansas in 1969 and joined Arthur Andersen & Co. in its audit division in Tulsa. He was with Arthur Andersen until 1980 working on audits of companies in a variety of industries including oil and gas exploration and production, oil and gas drilling, manufacturing, forest products and nonprofit associations.
Mr. Mourton joined the predecessor to Tribune/Swab-Fox Companies, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer in 1980. As a senior member of the corporate management team of Tribune/Swab-Fox and T/SF Communications Corporation, he participated in the many acquisitions and business development activities of such companies, culminating in the successful sale of T/SF Communications in 1997.
In addition to general accounting and tax matters, Mr. Mourton led these companies' financing efforts which included general bank credits, insurance company lending, private placements of various securities and public offerings. Mr. Mourton was also the chief compliance officer dealing with regulatory agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Since 1997 and before joining TSf Capital, Mr. Mourton was engaged in general consulting, including stints as interim-CFO for several manufacturing companies.
